Yeah, it is time for me to do my practice in front of the class for the
first time. My topic is about recount text, the basic competence is merespon langkah retorika teks tulis esei secara
akurat, lancar dan berterima dalam konteks kehidupan sehari-hari dan untuk
mengakses ilmu pengetahuan dalam teks berbentuk: recount. First, I arrange
the materi as well as I can do. I make short description about recount text,
consist of the purpose of the text, and the generic structure. My focus of the
learning is merespon langkah retorika,
it related to the generic structure. Then, my set induction is reply the
previous material about recount text that has been taught by Yanuar, Memey, and
Dias. Then for the learning, I have a game, it is about arrange the part of
text into good recount text in a group of three. Next, I ask them to identify
which is the part of the text called as orientation, event(s), and
re-orientation by reading aloud the text. So, they have to know well in
identifying the text. Then, I distribute the handout contains of recount text
and I also ask them to analyze the generic structure of the text. For the set
closure, I review again the materi.
For my reflection of my teaching. Since I teach reading skill, in fact I do
not teach them how to skim, scan or guess meaning from the text. One thing is
my homework is I have to learn again how to handle the students, since they are
very noise and sometimes do not pay attention to the learning. My friends as
observers also give me suggestions to speak louder. And one of them said that I
waste much time in the set induction. OK, I will learn more about it. ^^
