In that day,
my friend Jervin also has opportunity to teach in front of the class. She
provide us handout and give us the lesson about “Introduce yourself and others,
say greetings and partings”, she taught us well since she gave clear step from
one activity to others activity. I like her way in facing some students who do
not pay attention to the lesson by asking them about what does the lesson
about. In the end of her performance, Jervin is given some comments in order to
make her better in next teaching.
After that, we
discuss topic about “Classroom Management” with our lecture. First, how to
motivate students based on the situation that happened at the moment, whether
it is in good situation or not. Teacher should be able to know the students,
how to make them more attractive in joining the lesson and how to give
reinforcement to students who had motivated by themselves. Second, managing
constraints. It is about the limitation/lack of condition in teaching-learning
process. We learn how to handle that limitations and make sure our teaching
learning process is not disturb by that situation. Third is managing the
teacher’s role. Teacher as a center of the teaching process, she should manage
class well. All topics that we have been discussed are very important and
support us in practicing our skill in teaching. Those strategies should be
applied in the real class to support the learning process.
